The Bath apartment
From the common lounge opening onto the loggia you get to the heart of Palazzo Alberti level with the hanging garden. From the corridor, with a writing desk, you reach the bedroom and a big boxroom. The two windows overlooking “Vicolo dell’Anfiteatro” afford a peaceful view of the village. A wall shows traces of the tiers of seats of the ancient Roman Theatre (the sloping wall and the original Roman concrete are clearly visible). In the bathroom the extraordinary bathtub is mounted like a rare jewel on the cavity of an old medieval fireplace. Pamper yourself with a wonderful “hot bath” (stufa in the 13th-century vernacular) in a unique place.
