The “Alley” apartment
In the heart of Palazzo Alberti, level with the hanging garden, this large and elegant apartment stands on the remains of the lesser ambulatory of the Roman Theatre. The drawing room features big oak beams, a stylish fireplace and traces of an ancient Roman wall, which have all remained unchanged through the centuries. To the left two steps lead to the bedroom with typical medieval niches and a beautiful bathroom with a jet stream shower. In the bedroom and the bathroom two doors open onto the balcony jutting out over the alley (“chiassetto” in the 13th-century vernacular): it is Vicolo dell’Anfiteatro, one of the most picturesque sights in Bevagna.
