THEME DAYS The King of Wines: Sagrantino

Professor Ivo Pichiarelli will guide us through the hills of Sagrantino, where the fairytale story of Marco Caprai began thirty years ago, the winemaker who brought the world's attention to this wine which had been produced in silence for centuries.

In addition to this prestigious cellar we will visit that of Paolo Bea, where we will taste the finest Umbrian cheeses served with his extraordinary ‘Passito' wine.
The main square in Montefalco, the nearby small museum and the frescoes of Benozzo Gozzoli make it clear why the world comes all the way up here. Awaiting us below is Bevagna, a beautiful village marked by twenty centuries of history.
This charming place will be presented by its biggest admirer, Professor Silvano Piatti, who still speaks of Bevagna with passionate interest. The grand finale will take place at the restaurant Redibis, where Umbrian food and the King of Wines, Sagrantino, come together in an enchanting ambience.
