fotoAncient town of majolicas, its workshops have been producing art ceramics for centuries. When driving along the highway you can see the industrial estate while the old village is behind the city walls. Three gates, part of the original defensive system, lead to Piazza dei Consoli, the heart of the village, with the imposing Torri Civiche. The ex convent of St. Francis, adjoining the church, houses the Regional Museum of Ceramics. The exhibits include the Pecchioli and Milziade Magnin collections. The Shrine of Madonna dei Bagni, near Deruta, is worth a visit.
