Laetitia a Santa Maria Novella

From the archive of the house, another discovery. This beautiful picture tells of a day of shopping and visiting art in Florence.
Mom Laura portrays, in a beautiful backlight, her sister Laetitia (today ninetyseven years old) posing in the beautiful cloister of Santa Maria Novella.

Making a stop at the Antica Officina Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella was mandatory, to stock the famous fragrances to which the women of the Angeli Nieri Mongalli family couldn't' renounce. Refreshing and invigorating rosewater, the Vellutina soap, the pomegranate soap, vinegar aroma of the seven thieves to smell if you faint and finally pot pourri. This famous blend of herbs and flowers of the Tuscan hills left to macerate in earthenware jars, is still today the unmistakable fragrance of our hospitality.
